Urine is produced when your kidney filters waste through the body. A lot of factors can affect urine colour such as medication and food .The colour of your urine shows how hydrated or dehydrated your body is. It can also be an indication of a health problem. Transparent or clear urine
A clear urine indicates that you are drinking too much water. Cutting back on the amount of water you are drinking may be a good idea.
Blue or Green
This could be as a result of a food dye, a rare genetic condition, medication or bacteria infection of the urinary tract. Contact your doctor.
Pink to reddish
A red colour could mean a number of things. It could be the pigment of food you have eaten . Red coloured urine could also be as a result of urinary tract infection, kidney stone, kidney disease, bladder or prostate cancer. If you notice a reddish hue in your urine visit your doctor to get checked.
Brown
A brownish urine colour is a sign of severe dehydration. Dehydration occurs when you lose more body fluids than you are taking in. If your urine is looking a bit dark, increase your water intake. One of the easiest ways to make sure you’re getting enough water is to carry a water bottle with you when on the move. Brown urine could also be an indication of Liver problem. If you notice your urine is brownish it’s best to consult your doctor just to be on the safe side.
Light yellow
A light shade of yellow means you are well hydrated .
